About Me
Melanie C Gallo, PhD
Business Psychology Coach
I’m Dr. Melanie Gallo – a business psychology coach and Forbes contributor specializing in thinking habits, emotional wellness and personality within the world of work.
Business psychology coaching focuses on achieving personal and professional fulfillment. It is science-based and grounded in the idea that, "what we think, we become".
After 25 years of research, work in the private sector, and of course personal experience, I
believe that work-life is not as much about balance as it is about navigating through the mental fog that can disrupt our emotional and physical health – and ultimately our productivity. Trying to actually balance work and life is like wobbling around trying to balance like a juggler on a unicycle. If that's balance, then I'll pass on the circus act!
My passion is in helping professionals navigate through this fog within the Work-Life overlap to boost mental and physical energy. The end result should be Work+Life = Joyful.

Coaching vs. Therapy
“Business Psychology is the study and practice of improving working life. It combines an understanding of the science of human behaviour with experience of the world of work to attain effective and sustainable performance for both individuals and organisations”
The Association for Business Psychology, U.K.
Coaching vs. Therapy:
Therapy typically focuses on repairing psychological difficulties that impair well-being (retrospective). While coaching focuses on achieving desired outcomes and fulfillment through the removal of mental barriers (prospective). My I specialize int thinking processes and my coaching also involves assessment, homework, and frequent checkins using an accountability system.
Business psychology (BP) coaching vs life coaching:
The difference between business psychology coaching and life coaching is that BP uses assessment and intervention skills to analyze big-picture areas and provide recommendations to professionals and teams.
