Workplace Mental Health Coaching and Business Psychology Strategy

The WorkLifeJoy™️ Program FOR TEAMS

I know how burnout feels. I know how it looks.

I’ve always been particularly drawn to the dynamics of workplace environments — how people work, connect, lead, produce, and grow. But early in my career, I became deeply troubled by a reality I couldn’t ignore:

We spend most of our lives in workplaces that silently wear us down — emotionally, mentally, and even physically — all in the name of earning a living.

It shouldn’t be this way. If we’re spending most of our waking hours at work, we should be doing more than just surviving. We should be supported, energized, and thriving — not broken down. I do not believe that worklife has to be a punishment and that a workplace has to feel like a prison.

Of course people have the right to leave and they can “easily” be replaced. But do workplaces really want that? That costs a lot of money. And do people really want to have to go to the trouble of finding somewhere new if they don't have to?

That belief is the foundation of Your WorkLifeJoy™ Coach.

As a PhD in Business Psychology, MBA, and National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, I have spent many years coaching unhappy, unmotivated, unfulfilled burned out, working people. Many times they have so much going on both personally and professionally that something’s got to give. And many times one of their coaching goals is to leave their current organization. So, I know why they want to flee your organizations. And as a coach I have successfully helped them create a plan, and increase their confidence, motivation, focus, and mental energy to do just that!

So I help companies level the playing field.

I partner with organizations to create psychologically safe, emotionally intelligent, and human-centered workplaces that people are not desperate to leave — where performance and wellbeing can coexist and where individuals can adopt a psychologically sound alternative to the outdated hustle-culture ideal of “balance”. But companies have to do their part.

I believe that:
  • The phrase “work-life balance” is flawed — it implies a static, 50/50 equilibrium that doesn’t match real people’s lives.

  • People aren’t struggling at work because they’re lazy or broken — they’re struggling because modern life is overwhelming, and they’ve been given the wrong tools to cope both inside and outside the workplace.

  • Joy at work is not a luxury. It’s a fiscal and mental health strategy.

  • Coaching can be the bridge between insight and action — offering tools, not judgment.

  • People can pursue excellence in work without sacrificing your peace, your family, or your identity.

My Reputation
  • Credible and Credentialed:  A PhD with thousands of coaching hours, which positions me as a rare blend of academic rigor and real-world wisdom.

  • Warm but Direct: I don’t coddle or sell fluff — I speak in clear, grounded language that connects with both neuro divergent as well as high-functioning professionals who are silently struggling, (while also deploying a sense of humor when appropriate.)

  • A Bridge Between Therapy and Corporate Training: I’m not a therapist, but I bring mental health awareness into professional spaces in a way that’s safe, productive, and deeply needed.

  • Innovator in Workplace Wellness: I created the WorkLifeJoy™ model to reframe how we approach well-being — especially for those in high-stress roles (leaders, helpers, caregivers, BIPOC professionals, etc.).

  • Trusted Thought Leader in Business Psychology and Workplace Mental Health: I’ve published work on  Forbes.com as a member of Forbes Coaches Council, on major wellness platforms, on LinkedIn, and the WorkLifeJoy™️Coach blog. I’ve also served business psychology students as a PhD dissertation committee member and mentor.

I am not a therapist. I am not a life coach. I'm Your WorkLifeJoy™ Coach - a Board Certified Mental Health Caoch and Business Psychology strategist. Here’s what sets me apart:
  1. Blends Science + authenticity
I combine the rigor of behavioral psychology and coaching science with lived experience, empathy and real-life scenarios. I’m just as likely to quote a research study as I am to talk about what it means to find joy while car camping or watching youtube.

  2. Focus on Safe Work Environments, Not Just Individual Change
I coach individuals and companies alike—not to “fix” the person but to change the system so people feel safer, calmer, and more capable in the process. This includes psychologically safe communication, mental health-aware leadership, and emotional energy management.

  3. I Normalize Complexity
Instead of chasing perfection, I invite people to live in the messy middle—naming their feelings, noticing their patterns, and choosing better (not perfect) next steps.

  4. I’m a Black woman with deep cross-cultural awareness
My identity and experience lets me walk in rooms and make invisible dynamics visible—whether I'm coaching a C-suite team, being a mental health advocate, or coaching an overwhelmed, working parent or caregiver trying to hold it all together.

  5. My proprietary programs are ready-to-go
From my online programs and “The Burnout-Proof Workplace” webinars, to custom ROI-based workplace coaching packages, I bring done-for-you, plug-and-play value for both organizations and the  individuals within them.
